Welcome to Western New York’s "most moving" fundraising event – The Ride For Roswell! Here’s a quick overview of what you’ll need to do and know to make your Ride For Roswell a really fun fundraising, team-building, and bike riding experience!
Register now!
First, if you haven’t registered, and you want to preview what to expect, check out our How-to Video section, and watch the "How to Register" video. It has some good tips on what to have at hand before you start the registration process. If you're ready to register, you can register online, or download the participant registration form and mail, fax, or drop it off after you fill it out.
The registration form will also ask you what route you want to choose. That shouldn’t be too hard. If you don’t bike much, don’t sweat it, literally or figuratively. Our shortest route is 3 miles, our longest is over 100 miles, and there’s a choice of distances in between. You can always change your mind later – we have a video on that, too. (Not on changing your mind – on picking a route.) Not surprisingly, the title of that video is called "How to Choose a Route".
Help with fundraising, equipment, and finding cures for cancer.
Once you’ve registered and chosen a route, you’ll want to figure out your strategy for raising funds between now and Ride Day. We encourage you to think big. Again, you can check out a video. Watch "How to Fundraise" and hear how others have done it. You can develop your own personal web page where you can write your personal appeal, upload photos, e-mail donors, track your fundraising, and a whole lot more!
Then there’s your equipment – you’ll need a bike, a helmet, and a bunch of little stuff you may or may not know how to use to take with you when you ride. Again, we have a video: It’s called "How to Get Ready for The Ride".
Last thing you’ll need for The Ride is a good attitude. (We don’t have a video on that topic yet.) The Ride goes on rain or shine, but even a few drops now and then (notably in the years 2001, 2005, and 2008) haven’t stopped us yet.
A lot of people have told us that The Ride is their favorite day of the year. Whatever your ability to ride or raise funds, you should know that every dollar funds hope for patients and support for cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and that might make it your favorite day of the year, too.
So thanks for your efforts to help us find cancer cures. Ride on!
Call a Ride Coordinator at 716-THE-RIDE (843-7433) or e-mail RideForRoswell@roswellpark.org for more information.

Some riders will choose the 62.5-mile or 100-mile Century Ride.

Others will take the bike path on the 3-mile Family Ride.

You'll see bikes of all kinds no matter which route you take!
