The peloton

why we ride

Every day, people from all over the world are being diagnosed with cancer. Participating in the Peloton is a great way to honor those patients and show dedication to their fight.

One of the most impactful moments of Ride Weekend is watching the Peloton. This police-escorted, 12-mile bicycle procession travels in a two-by-two formation ceremoniously to kick-off Ride Weekend. The Peloton is such an impactful moment and carries the hope of our Roswell Park and Ride for Roswell community on their journey.

REQUIREMENTS

On Friday, August 6, 2021, the Peloton will ride 12 miles, starting at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and ending at UB’s North Campus. Upon arrival at UB, the Peloton will conclude with an exciting and emotional entrance into the Celebration of Hope amongst a cheering crowd. Here are the requirements to participate:

FUNDRAISE

All Peloton riders must raise $2,500 and this minimum must be met no later than August 5, 2021. Your spot will not be confirmed until this has been completed.

KEEP PACE

All Peloton riders must be able to ride 12 miles at a consistent average pace of 12 – 14 mph.

Have Access to a Bike

All Peloton riders must ride a bike in good, working condition, wear an approved cycling helmet (with a CPSC or ASTM certification sticker) and wear the provided 2021 Extra Mile Club jersey.
