The Peloton

Bring the spirit of the Ride from Roswell Park to the University at Buffalo in the Ride for Roswell Peloton.

One of the most impactful moments of Ride Weekend!

Every day, people all over the world are diagnosed with cancer and the Ride Community is committed to being in the fight with them. Participating in the Peloton on Friday, June 21, is a great way to honor those patients and show your dedication to ending cancer.

After a moving tribute to Roswell Park patients, this police-escorted, 12-mile bicycle procession travels in a two-by-two formation from Roswell Park to the University at Buffalo’s North Campus. The Peloton carries the spirit of the Ride Community and officially kicks off Ride Weekend.

Peloton requirements

Fundraising

All Peloton riders must fundraise $2,500. This minimum must be met no later than June 14, 2024. Your spot will not be confirmed until the minimum is met.

Keep pace

All Peloton riders must be able to ride 12 miles at a consistent average pace of 12 to 14 mph.

Equipment

All Peloton riders must ride a bike in good, working condition, wear an approved cycling helmet (with a CPSC or ASTM certification sticker) and wear the provided 2024 Extra Mile Club Silver jersey.

Age

Peloton riders must be 14 years of age or older to be eligible. Riders aged 14 to 17 must have a designated guardian also registered and confirmed for the Peloton.

There’s really nothing like the Peloton on the opening night of Ride Weekend.

John Heimback Jr.

Working at Roswell Park, I had seen the Peloton take off every year. It’s such an emotional event. When the riders all hold their cards up so that patients can see it, it’s absolutely tear-jerking. So, to be a part of that was very special.

Dr. Kathleen O’Leary

New riders to the Peloton will be required to attend a safety briefing and training ride prior to event. Details to come.
