Preparing for the Ride

How To Prepare For Ride Weekend 2021

Ready to Ride for Roswell and make a difference? Here’s what you can do to have a successful experience at this year’s event.

· Give your bike an A-B-C check by inspecting your air pressure, brakes and chain

· Review all the details on our Safety page to make sure you are ready to ride!

· Reserve your team tent

· Pack up your tailgate supplies if you’re bringing your own team tent or using one of ours

· Pre-event health screening is required of all staff, riders and volunteers. Anyone at increased risk or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 must stay home.

· Check the weather and make sure you’re dressed appropriately – the Ride happens rain or shine

· Double check you packed everything – your helmet, bike, bib, water bottle sunscreen, cellphone in case of an emergency and anything else you might need

· Wear a mask if you’re unvaccinated when not riding, especially if social distancing is not possible.

· Wear your helmet. It’s required.

· Ride ANY distance you want. Follow the Ride for Roswell signs for the distance you prefer or speak with a route guide and/or riding marshal along the route.

· There are restrooms, water and prepackaged snacks at each rest stop — take advantage of these and fuel up.

· If you need assistance, call 716-THE-RIDE (716-843-7433), ask at a rest stop, or flag down a riding marshal.

· If there is an accident or emergency, call 911.

· Now’s the time for even more fun! At all four locations, enjoy the finish line festivities and entertainment with your team.

· Whether you brought your own team tent, rented one of ours, or reserved a tailgate spot now is the perfect time to kick back, relax and take in all the good you accomplished with your team.

· Take a team picture or a selfie at one of our stations.

· Enjoy lunch on us courtesy of Tops Friendly Markets at a team tent, a general seating area or in our open-air picnic area. All options available at the four locations.

· Share why you participated in our Why I Ride area. Pin your tribute card or use sidewalk chalk to write an inspiring message.

· Don’t forget to thank your donors and share on social how well you did!

We look forward to seeing you on August 7!
