How to Prepare for Ride Weekend 2023.

Ready to Ride for Roswell and make a difference?

Here’s what you can do to have a successful experience at this year’s event.

Looking for Ride Day details and maps? Check out the Ride Day page or maps and parking page.

Before Ride Weekend.

Download the TraQ Central app from the App Store or Google Play. Riders are encouraged to have the TraQ Central app on their phone before Ride Day.

Ride for Roswell partnered with TraQ Central to deliver the safest event possible and elevate your overall experience. To do this, we need your help. Simply download and use the TraQCentral free mobile app. Then, the night before the Ride, you will receive a text message from TraQ Central with a link. Once riders click that link, it will automatically sync their information for Ride Day. The app displays the route(s) and your location. If needed, you can request assistance with the simple click of a button. It receives any notifications, including location specific alerts such as road conditions or weather warnings. Plus, you can also share your ride and images with friends & family. Friends & family can send you “shout-outs.” The app uses less than 4% of additional battery power.

Give your bike an A-B-C check by inspecting your air pressure, brakes and chain.
Review all the details on our Safety page to make sure you are ready to ride!

Pack tailgate supplies if you’re bringing your own team tent or using one of ours.

Visit Check-In on Thursday or Friday to receive your bib, claim your fundraising rewards and buy Ride Day gear.

Just before you ride.

Stay home if you are at an increased risk or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

Check the weather and make sure you’re dressed appropriately. The Ride happens rain or shine.

Double check to make sure you packed everything — helmet, bike, bib, water bottle, sunscreen, cellphone in case of an emergency and anything else you might need.

Write your name on the front of your bib and make sure to note any special needs on the back of your rider bib. Pin it to the back of your shirt.

Open the TraQ app on your phone before riding. This will allow you to receive any event-related alerts, engage with your loved ones and request assistance when you need it. (Even if you forget to log in, make sure you use the app for help!)

Stop by one of our bike shop sponsors for any last-minute bike tweaks.

Visit the breakfast tent for a treat before you ride!

During your ride.

Wear your helmet. It’s required.

Pets are not allowed at Ride for Roswell.

No headphones. Keep ears free to listen for directions from riding marshals, other riders and alerts from vehicles.

Be mindful of your place and space on the road.

Share the road — no more than two people in a lane.

Ride on the right; pass on the left.

Be cautious when riders are merging, especially when using a traffic circle. In traffic circles, bicyclists must follow the same rules as cars.

There are two major traffic circles at the start/finish on John James Audubon Parkway.

Call out when you are passing so that others are aware of you.

Stay hydrated! Drink before you are thirsty.

There are restrooms, water and snacks at each rest stop. Take advantage of the opportunity to fuel up. Rest stops have posted closing times.

If you need assistance, use your TraQ app, call 716-THE-RIDE (716-843-7433), ask the volunteers at a rest stop or flag down a Ride marshal.

If there is an accident or emergency, call 911.

If you see something, say something. Call the Ride Line with any concerns at 716-THE-RIDE (716-843-7433).

After you ride.

Now’s the time for even more fun! Enjoy the finish line festivities and entertainment with your team.

Whether you brought your own team tent, rented one of ours or reserved a tailgate spot, this is your opportunity to kick back, relax and take in all the good you accomplished with your team.

Enjoy lunch on us courtesy of Tops Friendly Markets at a team tent, a general seating area or in our open-air picnic area.
